Born and raised in Tulsa, Tracy E. Smith is a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, where she earned the International Baccalaureate Diploma and excelled in competitive speech and debate. She went on to graduate with honors from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in English and minors in Political Science and Spanish, while also competing on the OU speech and debate team.

After graduation, Tracy taught English in Japan before attending the University of Kansas School of Law. During law school, she interned at the largest district attorney’s office in Kansas and studied abroad in London, experiences that strengthened her advocacy skills and broadened her international legal perspective.

Before entering the legal field, Tracy spent fifteen years as a bilingual teacher in Title I schools, mostly in the Austin, Texas area, serving primarily immigrant children and their families. Her years in the classroom shaped her communication skills, cultural awareness, and deep respect for the human stories behind every case.

Tracy later began her legal career as a Bilingual Associate Immigration Attorney with the largest immigration firm in Tulsa, where she also spearheaded the development of a new educational program for immigrant adults.

Today, Tracy serves as an Associate Attorney at Diana Cupps Law, where she brings empathy, kindness, and steady advocacy to her family law practice. Her bilingual fluency allows her to support Spanish-speaking clients with confidence and cultural understanding, and her diverse background informs the client-centered approach she brings to each case.

Outside of work, Tracy enjoys writing—especially poetry—exploring Tulsa’s local culture, volunteering with the Tulsa Ballet, and spending time with her three rescue dogs: Cowboy, Ellie Mae, and Winston.
